Santorini Winery Tour
This wonderful excursion encompasses a full day of activities relating to the wine production on the island of Santorini , both historically and in the present. It also includes entrance fees to the winery museum and the wineries, and a wonderful seaside lunch.
Heading toward the beach of Kamari , the first stop on the tour will be the Koutsogiannopoulos Wine Museum , 8 meters underground with with 300 meters of underground tunnels. There’s a wonderful display of wine producing equipment covering the period from 1660 to 1970. The museum also has a special tasting area set up at the end of the visit.
Afterward, the tour continues south to the village of Megalochori for a visit to the Boutari Winery, one of the most important wineries in , which began producing the famous Santorini wine in 1989. A tour of the facilities will follow with wine tasting.
In the same village, the tour will continue to the vineyards of a small, but significant producer, the Gavalas family, who have been producing their wines since the 1800s. There will also be time to explore this pretty village, with its traditional Cycladic architecture.
The tour will continue to the beach of Perissa or Kamari for lunch at the seaside. After lunch, the coach returns to Fira Town.
